Aaron Rodgers finally got inked.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback debuted his first-ever tattoo on Instagram on Wednesday: an outstretched stretch down his arm with winks to astrology, a pair of lions, an ocean view, and an eye that sees it all.
“There is a deep and meaningful story and connection to absolutely every element of this artwork, and I’ll share a little more about that one day,” Rodgers wrote in his post, thanking tattoo artist Balazs Bercsenyi for his “mastery and friendship.”
The athlete, a Sagittarius, also hashtagged #astrology and #theelements.
The fresh ink comes just months after Rodgers, 38, split from fiancée Shailene Woodley, with whom he shared an astrologer. The spiritual couple, who broke up in April, began dating in 2020 and got engaged in 2021.
Rodgers’ teammates joked about the tat, with Packer’s friend David Bakhtiari quipped, “I hope this is a henna tattoo.”
Former Packers player Tom Crabtree joked, “You should have both arms fully up your sleeves by the first week,” adding, “Text me for tribal and nickel back tattoo ideas.”
Fans also joked about the elaborate art, with one writing, “New playbook looks complicated” and another asking, “Tom Brady gave you a tattoo?”
Rodgers and Woodley seem to be healing from their emotional rift in different ways; Woodley is “cherished” by nature and friends, and Rodgers expresses himself on his arm.
