Lil Durk shares update after explosive stage incident at Lollapalooza

Lil Durk says he is taking a break to focus on his health after an accident on stage at Lollapalooza.

The 29-year-old rapper suffered serious injuries on Saturday after being hit in the face by fireworks at the Chicago music festival.

“Due to the incident that happened on stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago, I am taking a break and focusing on my health,” he captioned an Instagram post in which he sat on a hospital bed with a face mask and a bandage over his right eye. .

“I finished my performance for my fans yesterday. Appreciate you all 💙.”

Images of the accident which has since gone viral on social media, shows Lil Durk walking across the stage before being hit directly in the face by two columns of smoke.

He then covers his face with his T-shirt as the music cuts off.

“Woah, woah, are you okay, bro? It shot straight up,” someone heard on the mic, referring to the smoke.

After a few moments of silence, Durk replied, “F–k it, stop smoking, let’s do it,” before continuing his set.

Elsewhere at the music festival, headliners Machine Gun Kelly and Dua Lipa took the main stage. Rocker ‘Bloody Valentine’ arrived in a pink leather biker jacket and treated fans to hits from his 2020 studio album, ‘Tickets To My Downfall’, as well as his latest release, ‘Mainstream Sellout’.
