Kim Kardashian wasn’t kidding when she described her style inspiration as “future alien Barbie” — who appeared at the Balenciaga dinner in Paris Wednesday night wearing a black helmet that resembled the xenomorphic creatures in 1979’s “Alien.”
The reality star, who walked the catwalk at the designer’s fashion week with Naomi Campbell, Dua Lipa and Nicole Kidman, paired her black Balenciaga sequined dress and the full-face helmet. She sat down at the table while posing with the unusual headgear.
Many fans compared Kim to a woman wearing a black dress and a xenomorph-esque helmet, and fans went wild – with Diet Prada and High Snobiety both reposting the hilarious side-by-side photo.
“@demna may have really had ‘Alien’ on the mood board for @balenciaga Fall 2022 couture. Who wore it better? [alien emoji] or @kimkardashian?” High Snobiety posted.
“Somewhere where the costume designer for Alien thinks… ‘I did Balenciaga first!’” one fan commented on the post, while another added “ALIENCIAGA”.
At Diet Prada, one fan joked, “I’m convinced that Balenciaga is a social experiment to see how ridiculous they can be, yet get people to wear it.”
Meanwhile, the “The Kardashians” star was definitely involved in the prank, posting a photo of herself with a fork against the alien-esque mask while her uneaten food was on the table.
“How do you eat with the mask on, Kimberly!?” wrote Kourtney Kardashian’s BFF Sarah Howard, with tons of followers joining in on the comment.
“It’s called the mask diet,” said one fan, while another added, “It’s a vibe, Sarah.”
The Skims founder certainly delivered some memorable looks this week in Paris, whether it was bringing back Madonna’s infamous Jean Paul Gaultier breast-bearing dress or wearing matching nose rings with her daughter, North.
We’re not sure how Kardashian can top this “alien Barbie” moment, but we have a feeling she has something up her Balenciaga sleeves for the future.
