Looking for an inexpensive A-List-approved swimsuit update this summer? Simply swap your bikini straps, à la Kendall Jenner.
The founder of 818 Tequila, 26, has been a longtime fan of the celebrity-loved label Sommer Swim; in 2020, she even described her relationship with the brand’s two-piece convertible as “a love story.”
And on Tuesday, Jenner posted a few Instagram photos to promote her edit for retailer Fwrd, dressed in Sommer Swim’s butter-yellow “Xena” top ($89) and “Naomi” tie-back pants ($79).
The brunette beauty crossed the straps of her suit and styled it with a cropped Miaou cardigan ($95) and black Bottega Veneta shoulder bag ($2,500).
The Fwrd creative director’s thong bikini top – which fits right in with the floss-esque fashions that heat up the beach season – can also be styled as a bandeau or a classic halter.
Sister Kylie Jenner responded with a heart-eyed emoji, while makeup artist Sam Visser wrote, “It’s getting hot in here.” TikTok star and Kardashian friend Olivia Pierson raved: “You’re perfect.”
Some fans were confused by Jenner’s swimwear/sweater combo, with one writing, “Because we all definitely need a sweater and a bag with our bathing suit, but okay.”
The “upside-down” bikini look has been making waves for a few years now, with Kourtney Kardashian and Hailey Bieber among the other stars to try it out. The twisty trend is also big on TikTok, where users show off the myriad of ways they’ve spiced up their strappy suits.
Inventive styling is all well and good, but we’re still not sure about poolside sweater sets.
