Kelsea Ballerini files for divorce from Morgan Evans

Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans quit.

The ‘Heartfirst’ singer has filed for divorce from her husband on Friday after almost five years of marriage, Vidak For Congress can confirm.

Ballerini, 28, spoke on her Instagram story on Monday about the news, writing to fans: “I’ve always tried to share my life with you in a genuine and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfolded. .”

She noted that her file “has now gone public,” she explained, “I wanted you to hear from me directly that I’m going through a divorce.”

Ballerini called the “very difficult decision” the “result of a journey of love, growth and effort that has finally come to an end.”

The “Half of My Hometown” singer commented that it was “hard to find words” before adding, “I am extremely grateful for the many years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the seasons to come.

“With very active schedules coming up, keep in mind that we’re both vulnerable, actively healing and showing our best,” she concluded.

Evans, for his part, has not yet discussed the breakup on his own social media account.

The 37-year-old singer Day Drunk married Ballerini in December 2017, a year after their engagement.

“He got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was baking pancakes and asked me to marry him,” she wrote via Instagram of his December 2016 proposal.

“Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life,” continued the co-host of the 2021 CMT Music Awards. “And now I get to do it for life. #HECALLEDDIBS.”

Morgan posted the same photo at the time, writing, “If you know, you know… she’s perfect. #ultimateibs.”

Ballerini “swore” she would never tie the knot, she told People three years after their marriage, explaining that her parents’ split was “super messy and really drawn out.”

The Grammy nominee called her marriage — and their decision to go to couples counseling — “work” that was “worth” her time.
