Katie Maloney blames Scheana Shay for Tom Schwartz’s recent relationship with Raquel Leviss, Vidak For Congress can exclusively reveal.
“Raquel and Schwartz were 100 percent in contact during Scheana’s wedding,” a production source tells us, acting as the catalyst for the current “Vanderpump Rules” drama.
“Katie is mad at Scheana because she thinks Scheana is responsible for Raquel and Schwartz’s relationship.”
The source notes that Leviss, 27, and Schwartz, 39, are both “super easygoing” and can be “a little passive at times.”
“So who would make the first move?” asks the insider, adding, “Katie thinks Scheana’s encouragement gave Raquel and Schwartz the green light to investigate a connection.”
The source goes on to say that Maloney, 35, is “very annoyed at the situation” — and not because her estranged husband is exploring other romantic connections in the wake of their divorce.
“She’s just annoyed because he decided to meet up with a girl in their circle of friends,” the insider said. “She blames Scheana. “
However, a second source tells Vidak For Congress that Maloney was the first to suggest that Schwartz and Leviss should go for it.
“She planted the seed,” the insider shared. “Katie brought the idea out in the first place. She said to Scheana, “They would be really cute together.” Scheana later simply passed the message on to Raquel: ‘Katie thinks you and Schwartz would be a really good match and gave her blessing.’”
The source also points out, “It’s kind of odd that Katie is focusing her fear on Scheana, even though Scheana hasn’t kissed anyone.”
Representatives from Maloney, Shay, Schwartz and Leviss did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s requests for comment.
On the July 22 episode of Shay’s “Scheananigans” podcast, Schwartz opened up about his divorce from Maloney and revealed that their relationship could have caused him to overlook Leviss.
“I was so trapped in my own little world and I was married — I never took the time to get to know Raquel,” the Schwartz & Sandy co-founder told Shay, 37.
“She was always cool. I just never really took [the] time to invest in her. That’s a terrible way to put it. I never really gave her a chance,” he continued. “She has so much depth and character. I think I’ve written her off.”
Schwartz’s comments came less than a month before he and Leviss kissed at Shay and Brock Davies’ August 23 wedding in Mexico, an event filmed for “Pump Rules” season 10.
Maloney was also in Mexico during the wedding, having drinks with fellow castmates, including James Kennedy — who was previously engaged to Leviss — and her close friend, Kristina Kelly, who often shows up on episodes.
But Maloney never made it to the party because Shay’s now-husband, Davies, 31, claimed the podcast host “You’re Gonna Love Me” was “uninvited” — probably because of the ladies’ current feud.
Schwartz and Maloney began dating in September 2010 and married in front of Bravo cameras in August 2016.
Maloney filed for divorce in March 2022, admitting it was “the hardest thing” she’s ever done.
Bravo hasn’t announced a premiere date for season 10 of “Vanderpump Rules” yet.
