Drew Sidora, star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” says Kandi Burruss and Marlo Hampton’s friendship is over, even after they make it up over a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
“Marlo gave Kandi some Kentucky Fried Chicken,” Sidora, 37, tells Vidak For Congress, recalling the women’s reconciliation at an airport in Jamaica that recently aired on the Bravo reality show.
“I think at this point it was like, ‘Okay, all is well. Thanks for this chicken.’ But in the long run there’s no real determination because you can’t say certain things and just try to apologize and it goes away.”
Hampton, 46, has repeatedly assaulted Burruss, also 46, throughout this season, criticizing her marriage to Todd Tucker and even calling her a “ho” who “f-ked everyone for free.”
Burruss previously told Vidak For Congress that she and Hampton will have an “explosive” fight this season of “Atlanta”. Though they patched things up again after the production wrapped up — apparently using fast food — the two started arguing off-camera again.
In June, Hampton criticized Burruss on Carlos King’s “Reality With the King” podcast for her frequent talk about sex on “RHOA.” She also accused the creator of Bedroom Kandi of not doing enough for the black community.
“Do some s–t for black culture. We have enough babies and diseases here. We don’t need anything else about sex, Kandi,” she told King.
In a subsequent interview with The Neighborhood Talk, Burruss explained that she was “tired” of Hampton’s “bulls-t.”
“She’s getting on my motherf-king nerves,” said the “Don’t Think I’m Not” singer. “I’ve done a lot more for the community than all of them. I don’t mind saying it… I’ve placed all my businesses in black communities so I can bring more jobs to our community. What’s she doing?”
Sidora teases Vidak For Congress that Hampton said “sorry, sorry, sorry” as he taped the upcoming “RHOA” reunion – but Burruss wasn’t ready to accept her apology.
“I feel like Kandi has to stand her ground so that Marlo knows you can’t just cross that line. That line was established for a reason,” says the founder of Drop It With Drew. “And I’m the same way. Once you cross certain boundaries, we’re not friends anymore.”
Sidora and Hampton faced their own conflict during the cast’s Jamaican outing. Hampton — triggered by her upbringing in the foster care system — criticized Sidora’s husband, Ralph Pittman, for reversing his plans to adopt Sidoria’s 11-year-old son, Josiah, from a previous relationship.
Unlike Burruss, Sidora was able to forgive Hampton—but only after they dissected their blast into a separate discussion.
“Marlo and I are cool. I feel like I see Marlo for who she is and I think when we were in Jamaica with that extremely vulnerable conversation, it put things in perspective for me and Marlo,” she explains.
“I don’t agree with how she attacks people… I really feel that Marlo has a lot of work to do and a lot to fix before people can openly trust her and embrace her fully.”
Sidora believes Hampton – who finally landed a full-time role on “Atlanta” during Season 14 – exhibited behaviors that were “a little extra” to keep her peach.
“It was just very driven by the peach. At some point you just have to be Marlo Hampton and show us who that is for us to build real relationships. And I think she learned her lesson. Really,” says the “Step Up” actress.
‘She reflects. And I said, ‘We just need to see a better version of you next year, please. Can the real Marlo show up?’”
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
