Hopefully he wasn’t too “In (his) Head” about it.
During Miami Swim Week, Jason Derulo sat in the front row as he watched his ex-girlfriend Jena Frumes walk the runway in various beachwear looks at Saturday’s show for designer Luli Fama.
The “Whatcha Say” crooner, 32, was seen holding the former couple’s 1-year-old son, Jason King, on his lap, staring at the runway as Frumes made a number of bikini-clad appearances throughout the 20-minutes lasting presentation.
The encounter came just weeks after the 28-year-old fitness influencer spilled onto her Instagram that her relationship with the “Savage Love” singer had been marred by his “ongoing” cheating.
The New Jersey resident made the claims in response to a commentator who called her a “whore” for having a son with Derulo — who callously described the child as a “bastard” — outside the bounds of marriage.
“We once aspired to get married, but maybe it’s better to be single than to be in a relationship and to be constantly respected, cheated and lied to. Or is it better to keep quiet so that people like you are okay with it?” Frumes wrote in response.
She followed with a statement on Instagram Stories.
“No one aspires to be a single mom, it’s the biggest heartbreak and failure for me personally…But if your non-negotiables are tested, you’ll never find peace in that relationship,” she wrote.
“There’s nothing in life I want more than for my family to be together, but I can’t be the only one working to make that happen. If a man wants a different girl for his family every week, I will never accept that we will never be ‘lucky’ to make it work,” Frumes continued. “I will never mind sharing a lover I love with all my heart!!!”
She added that she does not receive child support and “stop blaming the women as if we chose the life of a single mother. That s–t is damn annoying. You don’t know what women go through to try and ‘make it work’.”
It’s been just under a year since Frumes and Derulo parted ways for good, with the “Ridin’ Solo” artist breaking the news in September 2021 via his Twitter. The split happened just four months after Jason King was born in May of that year.
In 2020, Derulo told Vidak For Congress exclusively that he had met Frumes at an Equinox just before the COVID-19 quarantine began.
“We both have a similar desire to train all the time, and I’d seen her there once before, and then the second time, I was like, ‘Aight. I’m going to talk to her,’ and the rest is history.” he said at the time.
