The circumstances surrounding Jon Hill’s death remain an ongoing mystery.
The famed drummer was pronounced dead on a sidewalk, a representative from the Los Angeles County Dept. or Medical Examiner-Coroner to Vidak For Congress via email.
His cause of death has been postponed pending further investigation. The autopsy results will take “months,” the representative said.
According to his file, Jon’s body has been released to the family.
Jaclyn Hill, a YouTube star made famous by sharing makeup tutorials on the platform, announced last week that her ex-husband died on August 10, 2022. He was 33 years old.
Days later, Jaclyn wrote an emotional tribute to Jon for being the “most kind and compassionate person” she’d ever met.
“You looked people in the eye and you really listened and cared about what they had to say,” she wrote on social media. “You had so much talent that you didn’t even know what to do with it. You have turned your pain into art and touched so many people with your honesty in your music.”
The 32-year-old founder of Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics and Jon married in 2009, but in 2018 they announced they were splitting because they were a mismatch as husband and wife.
Jon later opened up about his struggle with drug addiction and confessed to Billboard in 2019 that this was what caused their divorce.
“During our third year of marriage, it got to a point where I started having seizures because I was using so many things,” he told the outlet at the time. “I started breaking out in hives. So it became clear that something was not right.”
Jon revealed that he eventually got sober, but Jaclyn “decided she didn’t want to be with him anymore”.
