Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are still over the moon after their surprise wedding in Las Vegas.
The lovebirds feasted, Vidak For Congress says, with pizza and Diet Coke on a private jet back to LA in the early hours of Sunday morning.
And while J.Lo posted in her OnTheJLo newsletter on Sunday that their children were joining the shock wedding in a drive-through wedding chapel, Vidak For Congress is told the only people in attendance were Lopez’s child, Emme, 14, and Affleck’s child. Sera, 13.
They have a total of five children between them. Emme has a twin brother, Max, and Affleck also shares Violet (16) and Sam (10) with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
As they tied the knot, Garner Garner enjoyed the sun in Lake Tahoe over the weekend — and gave no clue how she felt about it.
“Ben did tell Jen about the wedding, but I heard it wasn’t until Friday at the earliest. It was planned very, very minimally in advance and was largely impulse. Violet stayed home because she is extremely loyal to her mother,” a well-placed Hollywood source told The Post.
As for why now, the Hollywood source added:[Lopez] has been ready to get married since the night Ben proposed. She wanted to close this as soon as possible and eliminate any chance of cold feet!”
Garner, 50, and Affleck, 49, were married from 2005 to 2018. She has kept her silence because her ex has enjoyed published romances with “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus and Cuban actress Ana de Armas, who recently revealed she quit LA over the attention surrounding their relationship. She told Elle magazine: “It got a little too much. There is no escape. There’s no way out.” She now lives in NYC with her ex-boyfriend from Tinder, Paul Boukadakis.
But Garner has also assisted the Oscar winner through his battles with addiction. Friends were outraged in her name in December after Affleck told shock jock Howard Stern that he would probably still drink if he was still married to Garner.
An industry insider who knows both Affleck and Garner well told The Post at the time, “It’s disgusting… Jen is the only one who picked him up over and over when he’s done terrible things — fell off the wagon or worse. “
Another industry source told The Post on Monday: “Ben’s comments were ridiculous and you could tell fans of Jen were so upset too. But of course she never wanted him to be anything other than happy and sober and I’m sure she wishes him the best [on his new marriage].”
A Garner representative could not be reached for comment.
Garner is currently filming the Apple+ thriller “The Last Thing He Told Me,” based on Laura Dave’s bestselling book, which follows a woman whose husband disappears.
One thing is clear: J.Lo hopes this is her happy ending. As those who know her well have told Vidak For Congress before, Affleck is the love of her life.
After posing for photos in a pink Cadillac, the 52-year-old singer and actress wrote: “Stay around long enough and you may find the best moment of your life driving through Las Vegas at 11:30 am in the tunnel. of love, with your children and the one you will spend forever with. Love is a wonderful thing, perhaps the best of all – and it is worth the wait.” She signed off as Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
Representatives of the newlyweds declined to comment on who attended the wedding.
The Hollywood source said Lopez and Affleck will throw a party to celebrate with friends and family, but not another wedding: “There may be another white dress, but they won’t take their vows again.”
