Hillary Clinton surprised the crowd at the 2022 Venice Film Festival Wednesday with a red carpet cameo.
Dressed in a powder blue caftan instead of her signature pantsuit, along with textured pointed flats, the former first lady and secretary of state attended the opening ceremony of the Italian party, which included the world premiere of Noah Baumbach’s new film, “White Noise.”
The 74-year-old politician further adorned her beaded, subtly dotted ensemble with a pair of see-through bracelets, silver earrings and a sparkly necklace that reads “Jasper” — the name of her and husband Bill Clinton’s youngest grandson.
She last walked the red carpet for the 2022 Met Gala in May, dressed in an Altuzarra gown embroidered with the names of groundbreaking women, including Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Madeline Albright, Lady Bird Johnson and more.
Fans of the former presidential candidate were overjoyed to see her in Venice.
Queen Hillary Lives Her Best Life Red Carpet at the Venice Film Festival tweetedwhile another joked“Kaftan Hillary Clinton is my favorite Hillary.”
Others seemed confused when they saw Clinton at an entertainment event, with one Twitter user just kidding“is Hillary Clinton doing Venice for Indiewire.”
Some speculated that Clinton was there to support Netflix, the producer of both “White Noise” and Clinton and her daughter Chelsea’s upcoming documentary, “In Her Hands” — but a Netflix representative told The Hollywood Reporter Clinton’s appearance was unrelated.
“Hillary was a guest at the festival for the opening night. Not by us, but of course we’re working with her on “In Her Hands,” which premieres on TIFF and Netflix on November 16,” they said.
In addition to promoting “In Her Hands” in Toronto, Chelsea and Hillary will both speak at the festival in support of their Apple TV+ documentary series “Gutsy” – so we can look forward to more red carpet looks from both Clintons.
