Don’t worry, honey: Harry Styles is here with the steamy first trailer for ‘My Policeman’.
The former One Direction crooner has stripped down his pop star past in the upcoming Amazon Studios movie, which will see him play closeted cop Tom Burgess, who falls in love with a man named Patrick Hazlewood (David Dawson) while married to a woman. called Marion Taylor (Emma Corrin) in 1950s England.
In the trailer released Wednesday, Styles’ character can be seen grappling with his homosexuality because it was illegal at the time, while falling even more deeply in love with museum curator Tom, whom he aggressively kisses in a fiery scene.
“This love is all-consuming. I feel sorry for people who don’t know what it feels like to be so in love,” Styles said in a voiceover. “Come with me, just you and me.”
Corrin’s character seems to be discovering the true nature of the two men’s relationship, as she says, “He is trying to destroy our marriage.”
In another scene, Styles, 28, and Dawson, 40, are naked in bed.
The official plot for “My Policeman” reads: “Patrick’s arrival at Marion and Tom’s house kicks off the exploration of seismic events from 40 years earlier.” It is based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts.
The trailer comes as the “Watermelon Sugar” singer and his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, become embroiled in drama surrounding their psychological thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling.”
Fans were convinced that Styles spat at his co-star Chris Pine during Monday’s premiere; however, the representative of the “Wonder Woman” star shot down the rumors. Styles has not responded.
“My Policeman” will be released in select theaters on October 21 and on Prime Video on November 4.
