Tastes like Harry Styles spit?
Harry Styles joked about the speculation he spat on Chris Pine during his Wednesday night concert in New York City.
“This is our 10th show at Madison Square Garden, it’s great, great, great to be back here,” the British singer told his fans as he opened his show “Love On Tour: Madison Square Garden Is Harry’s House.”
“I just came to Venice to spit on Chris Pine, but fear not, we’re back!”
His comments had concertgoers shouting and cheering the singer as he held his guitar.
Fans have been talking nonstop about Styles allegedly spitting on Pine’s lap in a now-viral video from the “Don’t Worry Darling” co-stars at the Venice Film Festival premiere Monday.
In the footage, the singer-turned-actor, 28, was sitting on the empty seat next to Pine, with director Olivia Wilde on his other side.
After the “Late Night Talking” singer seemingly aimed his saliva at the 42-year-old actor, Pine froze halfway through the blow and stared into his lap with a smile before laughing to himself.
Styles, for his part, avoided eye contact with the ‘Wonder Woman’ star in the video and waved to other onlookers behind them.
After people’s reactions, Pine’s representatives immediately shut down the theories, calling them “ridiculous stories.”
“This is a ridiculous story – a complete fabrication and the result of a strange online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for silly speculation,” the representative told People Tuesday.
“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did” not spit on Chris Pine,” the rep continued. “There is nothing but respect between these two men, and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”
Not only were fans hungry for more about Spitgate, but they were also very alert to the rumored drama between the film’s star, Florence Pugh, and Wilde.
Many believed that Pugh had a problem with the romance between Wilde and Styles, as she missed many opportunities to gush about the project via social media – all while promoting other upcoming roles.
