Gisele Bündchen skipped a charity event, despite being mentioned on the dinner invitation.
The supermodel co-led Salma Hayek, Gloria Steinem and more celebrities at the Kering Foundation’s first-ever Caring for Women dinner, but decided not to show up at the last minute.
“People were disappointed…she was invited,” a source told Vidak For Congress.
Another participant also expressed surprise that the model was in New York City, but was not present.
Despite Bündchen’s absence, the guests were equally surprised to see the model’s ex Leonardo DiCaprio, who was the big celebrity of the evening.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel landed in the Big Apple with her daughter this week for New York Fashion Week. She told Elle she has a “huge list” of things she wants to do, but it seems like a charity dinner wasn’t one of them.
Her absence comes as she and Tom Brady grapple with marital problems stemming from his decision to retire from the NFL. The shocking move sparked an “epic fight” that saw Bündchen temporarily relocate to Costa Rica while Brady stayed in Florida to play football.
Sources now say the model is going through some sort of crisis to relaunch her career.
“In recent years, Gisele fired her longtime agent at IMG, moved to UTA, then fired them and moved to CAA for a little over a year and recently fired,” the source told us.
“And even though Gisele is no longer on the catwalk, she wants to stay ahead of the fashion industry. When Tom goes back to work, so can she.”
