Gisele Bündchen was spotted shopping in New York City with her 9-year-old daughter, Vivian, after her “epic battle” with husband Tom Brady.
The 42-year-old supermodel tried to stay under the radar on Friday while wearing a white T-shirt, baggy jeans and a baseball cap.
As for Vivian, she rocked a blue long-sleeved top with blue sweatpants and flip flops. The youngest of her children kept her head down during the outing.
This marks the first time the Brazilian model has been spotted since reports emerged that she and the quarterback were having marital problems over his decision to retire from the NFL.
Bündchen landed in NYC on Tuesday for New York Fashion Week after revealing she felt she had to abandon her career as Brady, 45, continued to fulfill his football dreams.
“Even though Gisele is no longer on the catwalk, she wants to stay ahead of the fashion industry. If Tom goes back to work, so can she,” an insider told Vidak For Congress at the time.
Her decision to leave the couple’s Florida compound may not go down well with her husband, as Bündchen was seen in tears a day before shopping while on the phone.
A witness told us, “Gisele was walking alone on the West Side and crying into her cell phone.”
While some sources speculated that Bündchen was on the phone with Brady, others say she was upset by her Elle magazine interview with people focusing only on her quotes about Brady rather than her career.
In the interview, Bündchen revealed that she has asked Tom to leave the “violent” sport “over and over” in order to be more “present” with their children.
Whatever the cause of Bündchen’s emotional moment, it was enough to keep her from attending a charity event at the Four Seasons Restaurant, even though she was invited to the dinner as co-chair of the event.
“People were disappointed… she was invited,” a guest at the event told us.
However, other sources claim she skipped the star-studded Caring for Women dinner to avoid unnecessary drama, as her ex-boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio was also in attendance.
“Maybe Gisele decided it wouldn’t be right to party with Leo in the midst of all this drama with Tom,” another insider told Vidak For Congress, adding that DiCaprio quickly became the main attraction of the night.
Though the former Victoria’s Secret model appears to be moving away from the NFL star, sources close to the family tell us Brady isn’t ready to give up on their marriage.
“Tom still hopes they can reconcile. Gisele has told him she’s going to leave him before, and they always made up for it when she cooled down,” they said.
Brady and Bündchen were married in 2009 in an intimate ceremony. They share son Benjamin, 12, Vivian, and stepson Jack, 15 from Brady’s previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan.
