Gisele Bündchen likes to leave the runway in the rear view.
The Brazilian beauty, 42, retired from the runway in 2015 to spend time in Boston with her husband, former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. She returned only once to represent her country at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel and seven-time Super Bowl champion are the proud parents of Benjamin, 12 and Vivian, 9. They now live in Florida, where Brady plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And regardless of whether Brady, 45, is finally retiring for good, Bündchen told Elle she has “zero desire” to start modeling again on the runway.
“Believe me, every year [designers] ask, “Please, Gisele, do the runway,” she said.
However, she will still star in photo shoots, so don’t expect to forget her famous face (or body) anytime soon.
“It’s very easy for me to go there and create a character and play that role for the day,” Bündchen said of posing on set. “It feeds me … I feel inspired to start creating more beautiful things in the world in different ways as well.”
Today, the author of “Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life” has stepped so far outside the industry that she admits that the recent rebranding of Victoria’s Secret “isn’t even on the [her] radar,” and she gave her husband no advice when he launched his clothing line, Brady, because he’s the one who “loves fashion.”
Bündchen also opened up to the magazine about her relationship with her sports star husband, following Vidak For Congress’s report that the pair are embroiled in an “epic battle” stemming from Brady’s ongoing football career.
“This is a very violent sport, and I have my kids and I would like him to be more present,” she told Elle, adding: “In the end I feel like everyone should make a decision that works for [them]. He must also follow his joy.”
The supermodel continued: “I’ve done my part, which is… [to] be for it [my husband]. I moved to Boston and focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and support him and his dreams.”
