This weekend G-Eazy did a surprising DJ set at the downtown hotspot, The Blond.
We hear he asked to get on the decks, turned around for an hour, and then returned to the table after his impromptu set to continue the party.
He also frequented Chelsea hotspot Somewhere Nowhere over the weekend, where he also jumped into the DJ booth.
Unexpected DJ sets seem to be his thing: In June, a source told us he was doing an unscheduled set in Brooklyn’s Schimanski. In July, a source told Vidak For Congress that he “unexpectedly jumped into the DJ booth and did a whole set” at club E11even in Miami.
Last year, the singer also grabbed the microphone at a New York Fashion Week event in Saks — and put on a performance that, according to sources, the organizers hadn’t planned.
Does anyone ever book this guy as a DJ? Is it always a pop-in affair?
Eazy hasn’t listed any upcoming concerts on his site, though he’s mentioned as a headliner on a flyer for the Blended Austin festival this month.
He was reportedly supposed to play something called the Big E in Massachusetts last weekend, but withdrew for unknown reasons.
During an interview with Ari Rastegar on the podcast “The Gift of Failure” last month, the “Me, Myself & I” singer said: “If you love what your f–king does… and you’re passionate, you go. doing it regardless, and you’re not doing it just for a check.”
