It was just a typical evening at the legendary East Harlem, Italian eatery Rao’s… except Sinatra classics were swapped out for Fat Joe.
The hip-hop star had the entire Manhattan restaurant singing along to his 2017 hit “All The Way Up” with Remy Ma when he dropped by the iconic spot for dinner on Wednesday.
The performance came nearly a month after the rapper celebrated his 52nd birthday at Brooklyn Chop House Times Square.
The song came on and, “He started singing it. The place went wild! Everyone was singing,” a spy told Vidak For Congress. “The playlist ranged from Frankie Valli and Frank Sinatra to Fat Joe’s ‘All The Way Up ‘, [verses] from. Everyone participated, including the staff,” our source added.
We learn that Fat Joe was dining at the impossible-to-reach restaurant with famed guarantor Ira Judelson and Judelson’s sons. A spy told us the group had eaten meatballs and pasta during a conversation about the rapper’s busy schedule that included four upcoming gigs, a cannabis shop and an animation show with Susan Sarandon.
We hear that Fat Joe even grabbed a bunch of meatballs to take away.
Meanwhile, the rapper also has the fall charity circuit on his calendar: On October 29, he will headline socialite Denise Rich’s annual Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research Angel Ball, which returns to Cipriani Wall Street. The ball was in the Hamptons last year. We’re told Chaka Khan will be performing, and DJ Cassidy will be spinning tunes.
The evening honors Pauslon & Son President John Paulson, Ellington Management Group CEO Michael Vranos, and Sun Capital Partners CEO Marc J. Leder. Newlywed Jill Martin of “The Today Show” will attend the event.
