But Musk, who shares two children with Grimes, responded with clear disapproval — and some trolling.
“The downside of eleven-ear surgery probably outweighs the benefits,” said the 51-year-old Tesla CEO. tweeted back.
Grimes then replied:“Tbh, this sounds like a job for crispr,” referring to the repetitive DNA sequences seen in bacteria with “spacer” DNA sequences between the repeats that exactly match viral sequences, according to the Jackson Laboratory.
She added: “Sad to be born just a few generations early ️😪🧝🏻♀️.”
Grimes, who wore the famous metal elf ears to the 2021 Met Gala, also expressed an interest in getting other adjustments made to her body, even saying she made an appointment with a plastic surgeon two years ago to get work done, but never did. continued with it.
“Does anyone also know of a great/safe/reliable ppl who could do vampire tooth caps on me in austin or la?” she asked Monday. “Also, are there any reputable elf ear modifiers in any of these towns? (Still discussing this surgery because cartilage doesn’t heal so it requires permanent stitches).”
Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, said she turned to the public for advice about her cosmetic surgery wishes because she wanted to destigmatize the conversation.
“Ps sorry if weird 2 discusses this openly, it just seems unhealthy how everyone in the media hides body mods, and then I feel self-conscious,” she tweeted. “I’m also less interested in conventional beauty (I’ll keep my nose) – but is there anything else that looks sick? It’s Dr. Kao.”
The “Genesis” singer added that she already has a “full tattoo plan in the works” and plans to make changes to her body in the coming years.
While some fans praised Grimes for talking about cosmetic surgery, others suggested she should leave her body as it is.
“My apologies. I just don’t understand. She’s naturally beautiful. It’s unnecessary pain in my opinion,” a person wrote.
“I think if you forgot the app, maybe you don’t need to make any changes. Also in regards to conventional beauty, ironically, I think it’s conventional to try to change your appearance for a desired result, so maybe leave things as they are at this time,” a second person agreed.
“I think your face is literally how other people get adjustments to look, if anything, (and I’m not saying I think you need it!) stay the same look and defy aging!” another follower commented.
Others suggested she get lip fillers, scars, a tongue split, or laser implants.
