“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley – who claims a burglar held a gun to her head during last year’s home invasion – joked about dodging a bullet… “this time.”
In a confessional during Wednesday’s episode of the Bravo reality show, Kemsley, 46, reflected on failing to test positive for COVID-19, which simultaneously affected co-stars Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne and Garcelle Beauvais.
“Luckily I managed to dodge the bullet,” Kemsley told the camera, pausing for a moment before leaning forward with a grin and adding: “this one time.”
The prank didn’t make it to several social media users, one of whom was tweeted Kemsley’s exact quote and added: “Dorit reportedly suffering from PTSD after allegedly being held at gunpoint.”
Another critic posted“Dorit how could you say ‘dodge the bullet’ knowing what we know Kyle [Richards] know that Sutton [Stracke] allegedly know you’ve continued?!”
A third follower quoted the reality star’s words and shared a GIF of “Real Housewives of New York” alum Bethenny Frankel who seems shocked.
Kemsley and her two young children were victims of a burglary in October 2021 when masked men broke through a glass door and broke into their home in Encino, California. The husband of the “RHOBH” star, Paul “PK” Kemsley, was abroad at the time.
Dorit wept as she recounted the night to her castmates on a recent episode of “Beverly Hills,” claiming that one of the intruders held a gun to her head while begging him to spare her life and leave son Jagger, 8, and daughter Phoenix. not to harm , 6, who slept in their bedrooms.
“When he saw me, he panicked, and he attacked me, grabbed me, put me down [and yelled], ‘Get down on the f–king ground! I’m going to fucking kill you!’” Dorit recalled during the show. “[He] pointed a gun at me and I just sat hunched over, sobbing, saying, ‘Please, please, I have little babies. Please, I’m a mother. Please, I beg you, my children need me.’”
‘I begged him, begged,’ she continued, ‘and the other man said, ‘Just kill her. Just kill her.’”
At the time, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman declined to confirm reports that Dorit was held at gunpoint during the break-in.
“The victim was in the home at the time and was confronted by the suspects,” the LAPD statement said. “Both suspects threatened to kill her as she pleaded for her life and that of her young children.”
The statement said Dorit was “afraid for her safety,” so “she complied with the suspects’ demands and directed them to valuables.”
According to police, the two robbers stole “high-end handbags, jewelry and watches” before “leaving the house with the items wrapped in bedding”.
The suspects have yet to be caught.
