Doja Cat isn’t afraid to step in (yuh) with her haters.
The “Kiss Me More” hitmaker rocked dramatic gold face and body paint while on the go during Paris Fashion Week Tuesday, but not everyone was a fan of her gilded glamour.
‘The paint makes her look ugly. When you do makeup in this way, you still need to accentuate facial features. She looks like a tired old statue, lmao,” one person tweeted.
Doja, 26, wasted no time defending her Midas moment.
“I wasn’t trying to look sexy or attractive,” she retorted. “All my makeup has a story and there are absolutely 0 rules and if there were, you wouldn’t be the one making them.”
The “Planet Her” rapper rocked the daring beauty look with a matching gold manicure, checked pantsuit and a Simon Miller vegan shearling jacket ($695) for the AWAKE Fashion show, later swapping the suit for a casual T-shirt. shirt and jeans (but kept the metallic makeup) to go shopping at the Jacquemus store.
It was far from her only major makeup moment in Paris; Doja also sported white face paint with blue outlines, a black striped lip paired with silver brow studs and graphic zig-zagging eyeliner, among other theatrical looks created by artists Laurel Charleston and Sophia Sinot.
“Part of the reason we don’t get big red carpet fashion moments like that JLo Versace dress, Gaga’s meat dress, or Rihanna’s prom 2015 moment is because nobody makes big swings anymore. Doja Cat seems to be in her ‘fk it, let’s try it’ era and I appreciate that,” a fan tweeted.
Another praised Doja for her “most expressive” range of styles, to write“hair [sic] and her team deserve their flowers… she looks AMAZING.”
The Grammy winner shaved her head and eyebrows in August and has been experimenting with striking beauty looks ever since.
She recently hit back at haters of her buzzing ‘do, tweet“I won a grammy and traveled the world, I had a number 1 and I went platinum. I make hit after hit after hit and you all want me to look f-kable for you so you can go home can go and pull your c-ks all day while you live with your mom [sic] cellar.”
The outspoken singer added: “Go fk yourself.”
