‘Danger!’ fans criticize contestants for missing clue about Taylor Swift

“Danger!” fans didn’t hesitate to criticize the iconic game show for the latest controversy.

Viewers are calling out the show’s contestants for their lack of pop culture knowledge after missing a clue about world-renowned, Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift during Wednesday’s episode.

When the episode was halfway through, returning champion Matt Mierswa, who is from New Jersey, asked for a clue worth $400 in the “title that completes the rhyme” category, which questions players about their knowledge of songs.

Host Ken Jennings tried his best not to sing the famous tune, instead hinting, “And I’m like oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh, you just gotta stop, like can’t you just step on my dress?”

But the clue clearly fell on deaf ears, for Mierswa stood with a blank expression on his face.

Viewers became more frustrated after the other contestants didn’t know the answer either.

Danger!

After saying that Mierswa’s time was up, Jennings told the players: “I really wish this was Johnny [Gilbert] to read this. This is what you need to calm down by Taylor Swift.”

Fans of the 11-time Grammy Award-winning singer were understandably disappointed that no one was able to name the song.

Viewers rushed to Twitter to beat the contestants, with one tweet“Anyone who goes on to #Jeopardy clearly has a crown in my book, but I can’t calm down when there’s a triple stupid Taylor Swift lead.”

“Taylor remains unanswered at the top of the board! I think you could throw “You Need to Calm Down” around in many different ways in regards to #Jeopardy”, another wrote.

“None of the compromised contestants were given the Taylor Swift cue to shut down the entire show,” a third said smoked.

Another added“NOONE HAS THE TAYLOR SWIFT QUESTION AT DANGER??? boooooooooo.”

Despite the hiccup, Mierswa still managed to take first place with $26,644 in winnings on Wednesday’s episode.

It comes as fans of the long-running trivia show also went wild with Jennings’ on-air joke during the July 18 episode.
