Charges dropped against Mary Cosby for ‘hosting runaways’

Mary Cosby has been acquitted of a felony charge of “unlawfully harboring a runaway” and “contributing to the delinquency of a minor”.

“This motion is filed over evidence concerns,” Assistant Attorney General Madison Barr of Salt Lake City wrote in court documents obtained by Fox 13 News Utah last week.

After the charges were dropped, the 49-year-old “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star took to social media on Sunday to celebrate the legal victory.

“I don’t live my life to please people, I live my life to please God❤️🙏for the people who are committed to believing lies! 🥰,” Cosby wrote in an Instagram caption along with screenshots of several tweets about the news.

“The truth will always stand️🙏I love you!! This much!! Don’t worry about haters, let them worry about you 😘 #truthbetold💯 #love #live #life #tothefulest #facts #🙏”

Meredith Marks, Cosby’s former co-star, left three heart emojis under the post.

A Cosby representative did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.

In June 2021, Cosby pleaded not guilty after being charged on April 8, 2021. However, the details surrounding the charges were kept well hidden.

Nevertheless, in August, Cosby’s rep told us that “Mary is saddened to have been dragged into the domestic situation of another family, but is confident that this misunderstanding will soon be cleared up.”

Cosby’s attorney previously told Fox 13 that the charges “sound ominous,” but it was a misunderstanding that resulted after the mother of her son’s friend Robert Cosby Jr. had called the police while she was spending time in their house.

“Instead of the Salt Lake City Department focusing on real crime, they are turning into the relationship police,” Roberts attorney, Clayton Simms, told the local news station in October 2021.

“The basis of this case is simply a misunderstanding. We think there is absolutely no merit to the case.”

Cosby starred in ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ for the first two seasons before leaving the series. The church leader chose not to attend the season 2 reunion amid arguments with most of the cast members.
