Chanel Ayan defends ‘wedding dress’ at engagement party Caroline Stanbury

Sorry, she has no regrets!

Caroline Stanbury berates frenemy Chanel Ayan for wearing a “wedding dress” to her engagement party on Wednesday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Dubai.”

But the latest Bravolebrity says she was just following instructions.

“I understood the assignment well. I was told, “Wear white.” I wore f-king white,” the model, 44, told Vidak For Congress Style in an exclusive interview.

“My intention was to look good and feel good and be fantastic and be sexy and be stunning. All of that!”

She adds, “You know, when I go to a party, I’m always overdressed and I always look good. It’s not my problem if you come underdressed.”

In a example for “RHODubai,” Stanbury, 46, is furious after seeing Ayan’s lacy Amato Couture bodysuit and dramatic cape at her desert party with now-husband Sergio Carrallo.

“Chanel is in a wedding dress,” Stanbury says from her car, to which Carrallo, 27, snorts, “Are you kidding me now?”

The “Ladies of London” alum further accuses Ayan of wearing a “f-king veil” on her head, though it seems Stanbury mistook the Ayan Beauty founder’s long platinum hair for a headdress.

“That has to be the biggest slap in the face a guest can do to a bride,” Stanbury said in a confessional. “Anyone with an ounce of etiquette would understand that you don’t go to a woman’s wedding in a wedding dress.”

At the event, Stanbury bluntly calls Ayan “the rudest wedding guest ever” to her face – even if it was her engagement party, not her wedding, and the invitation called for all-white clothing.

Unhindered, Ayan replies, “You look beautiful, though!”

In her own confessional, the catwalk queen responds to Stanbury’s claim that she purposely spotlighted the bride.

“First of all, Caroline, I’m a black, beautiful woman. We don’t look alike at all. And I wore couture from Amato. She was definitely wearing Shein,” Ayan says shaky, referring to the popular fast fashion brand.

Stanbury actually wore a $12,000 high-low dress with a plunging neckline from Celia Kritharioti. Still, she “can’t compare or compete,” Ayan says.

The fashionista has certainly elevated the style of “RHODubai” and arrives even at the most casual events in elaborate designer dresses.

Ayan – who has delighted viewers with her love of feathers, ruffles and ever-changing hairstyles – tells Vidak For Congress Style that she hadn’t planned her distinctly glamorous wardrobe for her first season.

“You’re going to laugh about it, but I’m being very honest. I had no plans about clothes. I never planned clothes, I never planned shoes, I never planned hair. That’s why I usually wear plastic hair because I don’t care about it,” she says.

“I like my face. That’s all that matters, right? I’m going to look good in plastic dresses, plastic whatever, so I really wasn’t thinking about style.”

However, when it became known in Dubai that Ayan had been cast, her designer friends clamored to show their clothes in the reality show.

“When it got around, because I know a lot of designers… they pay me to wear their clothes, they pay me to do things, I just started wearing them,” she explains. “And I have a lot of love for Filipino designers because many of the designers I wore are Filipinos and local Emiratis that I walked and modeled for years.”

Ayan – appearing on this week’s episode of Vidak For Congress’s “Virtual Reali-tea” podcast – plans to make bolder sartorial choices once Season 2 is over.

“Now that I know people like my fashion, f-king is going to be great next season,” she says, “if I’m ever asked to come back!”
