Famous friends and admirers of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck congratulate the couple on their surprise wedding over the weekend.
“Congratulations!” Vanessa Bryant responded to a photo of the “Marry Me” star – who rekindled her romance with Affleck in 2021 – in bed with her wedding ring on.
“Love is patient and right on time. Congratulations sweetheart,” wrote TV personality Hoda Kotb, while Brad Goreski commented: “Huge congratulations! What amazing!”
“Happily Ever After💗💗💗💗,” commented trainer Tracy Anderson, as Kerry Washington left a slew of heart-eyed emojis.
“Real Housewives of Orange County” stars Heather Dubrow and Kim Kardashian both responded with heart emojis.
Her co-actor Vanessa Hudgens from “Second Act” also expressed her happiness for the singer from “Let’s Get Loud”.
“I was literally scrolling through Instagram and I saw that and I gasped,” the “High School Musical” alum told E! News after the announcement.
“I’m so excited for her. I love her. She deserves the whole world, and I just love a full-blown romance. It is so cute.”
The newlyweds met while filming “Gigli” in 2001, when Lopez was still married to Cris Judd. After her divorce, she got engaged to the “Good Will Hunting” star in November 2002, but broke things off two days before the ceremony.
Lopez would go on to say that Affleck was “her first major heartbreak,” but the pair found their way back together in 2021 after Affleck split from Ana de Armas and Lopez from Alex Rodriguez.
They continued to seriously date for months, before he asked the question – for the second time – and confirmed that they were engaged in April 2022.
She revealed they were officially husband and wife in the July 17th issue of her “On The JLo” newsletter.
“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years of patience,” she wrote of the Las Vegas ceremony, noting that it was “just what we wanted.”
“Last night we flew to Vegas, lined up for a permit with four other couples, all taking the same trip to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us, two men held hands. In front of us was a young couple who, on their daughter’s second birthday, made the three-hour drive from Victorville – we all wanted the same thing – so that the world would recognize us as partners and declare our love to the world through the ancient and almost universal symbol of the marriage,” she continued.
Lopez also said she wore “a dress from an old movie” as they exchanged vows in the “little chapel” and “gave each other the rings that we will wear for the rest of our lives.”
“We were barely in the little white wedding chapel at midnight,” she revealed. “They graciously stayed open a few minutes late. Let’s take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, apparently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted to show Elvis himself it cost extra and he was in bed).”
