Braunwyn Windham-Burke is “heartbroken” after her breakup with ex-girlfriend Victoria Brito, but focuses on her sobriety.
“I feel all things — heartbroken and sad, but I’m still sober, and that’s what matters,” the 44-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County tells Vidak For Congress exclusively.
“When it feels like the world is collapsing and ‘Now what?’, I turn to my sobriety.”
Vidak For Congress confirmed Friday morning that the now-former couple had split up after dating for less than a year, with a source now telling us distance played a part in the demise of their romance.
“Long distance relationships are difficult, and that was no exception with Braunwyn and Victoria,” the insider said. “Although they spent a lot of time in New York, they both had to travel a lot for work.
“Recently Vic had to travel quite a bit internationally, and the distance caused communication problems in their relationship.”
Windham-Burke appeared to tease her breakup earlier this week on her Instagram Stories, where she posted emotional, cryptic messages about the upheaval in her life.
“When I got sober, I thought, ‘Okay, now I’m not going to drink and everything will be easy,'” she said on Thursday. “I didn’t realize what kind of s–t was coming my way.
“Every time I think it can’t get any worse, it does,” she continued. “When will this stop? I have moments like, ‘I didn’t sober up to make this so difficult.’”
Windham-Burke debuted Brito as her friend at Art Basel in Miami in the fall.
The mother of seven – who shares Bella, 21, Rowan, 18, Jacob, 16, twins Curran and Caden, 8, Koa, 6 and Hazel, 3, with husband Sean Burke – came out as a lesbian in December 2020 but remains married with the businessman.
