Bear Grylls, Sandra Oh and Sophie Winkleman were among the celebrities to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
Grylls, 48, was spotted wearing a black suit waving to mourners ahead of the monarch’s 11am service in London.
“It is a day we will never forget… a truly beautiful testament to the sovereign of our nation, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Rest in peace. Your duty is done. Long live King Charles…”
Grylls was invited to the funeral as a representative of the Scouts in his role as Chief Scout of the United Kingdom.
He was first appointed to the position in 2009 and served a second term from 2015.
The “Man vs. Wild” star has met the Queen several times over the years, including when he was made an Officer of the British Empire in 2019. As for other members of the royal family with whom he is associated, he previously revealed that he and Prince George (9) once ate a live ant together.
“Chief Scout, @BearGrylls, will represent Scouts at the state funeral today and pay our last respects to our patron saint, HM The Queen,” the Scouts tweeted early Monday. “Our thoughts are with the royal family.”
Oh, 51, also paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth as a member of the Order of Canada.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” alum was spotted in a black dress and black hat as she made her way through Westminster Abbey in a small line alongside other Canadian participants, including musician Gregory Charles and Olympic gold medalist swimmer Mark Tewksbury.
Winkleman, known for her role in the British sitcom ‘Peep Show’, also paid tribute to her on Monday.
The actress, 42, attended as part of the Royal Family as she is married to Lord Frederick Windsor, the son of the Queen’s cousin Prince Michael of Kent.
The three celebrities were among 2,000 invited guests, including President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron, who attended the service.
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8 at the age of 96.
