Avril Lavigne doesn’t say “see you later boy” to her teenage style.
The ‘Complicated’ singer was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday and could not resist paying tribute to her roots with her outfit.
Lavigne, 39, topped her plaid pantsuit with a blue hoodie that read, “Skateboarding is not a crime” — the same sweatshirt she wore when she was 16 years old when she visited the Walk of Fame as a tourist.
“My first time coming to LA, that’s what I did. I walked the strip checking out the stars,” she said during her ceremony, per Variety, proudly showing the throwback snap.
The pop-punk princess wore her orange-toned locks long and loose, rocking smoky silver eye makeup and black nails as she posed with employee Machine Gun Kelly and fiancé Mod Sun at the event.
In true “Sk8er Boi” style, she even added her own branded skateboard.
Lavigne’s star moment comes just as she launches a new clothing line. (And no, it’s not Abbey Dawn, though that brand — that “reflects Avril’s rock and roll lifestyle” and was founded in 2008 – is surprisingly still available).
The Canadian star teamed up with Killstar on the edgy new line, which offers S&M-style harnesses, skeleton print dresses and barbed wire chokers, perfect for the modern revival of the MySpace scene queen.
There’s even a bubblegum-pink skull-shaped suitcase ($149) for Lavigne fans who like to travel but, oddly enough, not hoodies.
