Angelina Jolie claims she and her children were traumatized by Brad Pitt after their infamous fight on a private jet in 2016.
“The events of that day were traumatic for Jolie and the children,” the actress’s lawyers said in court documents obtained by Vidak For Congress on Tuesday.
The filing continued, “To this day, all of them have been unable to return to Chateau Miraval due to its association with these traumatic events, including the children who are now legal adults.”
The exes – who married in 2016 – share six children: Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, Vivienne, 14, and Knox, 14.
In addition, the “Maleficent” actress claimed that Pitt became violent with one of their children, as well as with her.
The 58-year-old ‘Fight Club’ star is said to have ‘choked one of the children and punched another in the face’, as well as ‘grabbing Jolie by the head and shaking her’, the file says. “At one point he poured beer on Jolie; in another he poured beer and red wine over the children.”
Jolie claims she tried to stop Pitt, but not without him injuring her and throwing hands.
“To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself back into the seats of the plane and injured Jolie’s back and elbow,” the documents claim.
“The kids rushed in and all tried to protect each other bravely. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the kids and punched another in the face. Some kids begged Pitt to stop.”
The alleged dispute caused Jolie to file for Pitt’s divorce just days later, and they’ve been embroiled in a nasty custody battle ever since. Although their divorce has not been finalized yet, they were both declared legally single in 2019.
That year, the FBI was investigating Pitt for alleged child abuse before the incident. However, the authorities have not brought any criminal charges against the actor.
Pitt admitted to yelling at his children during the incident, but claimed he never got physical.
A source close to the actor told Vidak For Congress last year: “Brad is heartbroken that Angelina has gone down that road. There is still a lot of emotion left after their marriage.”
Pitt was granted joint custody of their minor children in May 2021, although Jolie has continued to fight the ruling.
