Alec Baldwin sets the record straight on “why” he and his pregnant wife, Hilaria Baldwin, have such a large family.
“People are commenting on how many children we have and asking why,” the 64-year-old actor wrote in an Instagram video on Sunday.
“This is why,” he continued. “The thing in this life that matters most to me is these people.”
In the social media upload, Hilaria, 38, handed their youngest two children bottles of milk after dressing Eduardo and Lucia, both 1, in matching puppy onesies.
The toddlers’ outfits were complete with floppy ears and a tail.
“Some kids want to be superheroes and royals, my babies want to be puppies…because they’re superfans of animals,” Hilaria wrote for her own account. “They got dressed up last night.”
The former yoga instructor and “30 Rock” alum also share Carmen, 8, Rafael, 7, Leonardo, 5, and Romeo, 4. In March, they announced they have a baby girl on the way.
“After many ups and downs in recent years, we have an exciting highlight and a big surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall,” Hilaria wrote on her announcement video on Instagram.
“We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re more than happy with this surprise,” she continued at the time. “Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives.”
The following month, Alec explained why they kept expanding their family.
“People are asking why,” the New York resident wrote on an Instagram video of Lucia. “Here’s why. Being a parent is the ultimate journey.”
Alec and Hilaria married in June 2012, 10 years after he divorced his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
The Oscar nominee and former model, 68, share daughter Ireland, 26, and Hilaria has spoken vocally over the years about her strong relationship with her stepdaughter.
“I never tried to be her mother,” the author of the “Living Naturally Method” told Us Weekly in March 2020. “I think that’s very important. … We’re just friends.”
