Jana Kramer, who was cheated on by ex-husband Mike Caussin, says she felt “triggered” by Adam Levine’s recent DM scandal.
“I’m Over The Things That Happened” [to me]but it’s still very triggering when something comes up,” the 38-year-old country singer said on Sunday’s episode of her podcast “Whine Down.”
“I was pregnant when my ex cheated on me.”
Levine, 43, was accused of cheating on his pregnant wife, Behati Prinsloo, with a TikTok user named Summer Stroh. The Maroon 5 frontman denied the charge of cheating, but admitted he “crossed the line” by sending inappropriate messages to Stroh via Instagram.
Levine also confessed in his statement that he “used poor judgment” by talking to anyone other than Prinsloo, 34, in a “flirty” manner.
“Hearing these words – ‘My wife and my family is all I care about in this world’ – that was always my big problem in my marriage,” Kramer argued. “How am I? How? When? Before or after when you said to some other women, “You’re the prettiest girl in the world.”
“I’m not trying to make this about me or anything, but I feel like when someone is cheating or being inappropriate, their apology triggers me the most,” she added, comparing Levine’s statement to some NBA stuff. star Tristan Thompson said after cheating on Khloé Kardashian .
Kramer has spoken out about her own relationship issues over the years, both on social media and in the press. Her now-ex, 35, also admitted to cheating on her with multiple women during their rocky marriage, which lasted from 2015 to 2021.
The duo tied the knot in 2015, but broke up a year later after Kramer discovered Caussin had been unfaithful. They rekindled their relationship and renewed their vows in December 2017.
Caussin later admitted that he suffered from an addiction to sex. Kramer filed for divorce in April 2021, accusing him of adultery in the filing. They finalized their divorce in July 2021.
Kramer and Caussin share two children: Jolie, 6, and Jace, 3. The “Dancing With the Stars” alum was previously married to Michael Gambino for less than a year in 2004 and to Johnathon Schaech from 2010 to 2011.
Meanwhile, since Stroh made her allegations against Levine public, several other women have come forward with screenshots of flirty DMs the rocker has reportedly sent.
Some of his alleged direct messages, which have since been turned into memes, show Levine saying things like, “Holy f–k. That body of yours is absurd” and “It’s unreal how f–king hot you are.”
Levine and Prinsloo – who share daughters Dusty Rose, 5, and Gio Grace, 4, and have a third baby on the way – have since formed a united front amid the scandal.
