Jaclyn Hill described the death of her late ex-husband Jon Hill and her “grieving process” as the “saddest, strangest thing” considering they had been separated for five years.
“I’m at the point in my grieving process where I just have to trust it and see what happens every day,” the YouTube star shared in an Instagram Story video on Thursday.
“Right now I’m kind of tired of sharing this with millions of people, and I just need some privacy on this topic.”
Jaclyn, who rose to fame for her makeup tutorials on the video platform, said that even though they hadn’t been in a romantic relationship for years, she and the drummer remained close to each other.
“We still kept in touch and talked. It’s just the saddest, weirdest thing there is,” she said.
“Ugh, it’s so much of you,” she added, choking. “Trying to go through it in public just makes it that much harder for me.”
Jaclyn, 32, said last week that Jon’s surviving family asked her to announce that Jon had passed away on August 10 at the age of 33.
“We are all devastated by the sudden tragedy,” she concluded her statement. “The Hill family asks for privacy during this openly difficult time.”
While the circumstances surrounding Jon’s death remain a mystery, Vidak For Congress broke the news that he was pronounced dead on a sidewalk. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner also told us that Jon’s cause of death has been postponed pending further investigation. The autopsy results will take “months”.
According to his file, Jon’s body has been released to the family.
The founders of Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics and Jon, who struggled with substance abuse, married in 2009 but announced their split in 2018.
