Will Smith shared a video apologizing again to Chris Rock for hitting him at the 2022 Oscars.
Smith, who won Best Actor for his role in “King Richard” that now famous night on March 27, 2022, admitted he was “drowsy” in the moments after the blow, which is why he failed to apologize to the comedian in his acceptance speech.
“I reached out to Chris, and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk yet, but if he is, he’ll get in touch,” Smith said in the video. “I’ll tell you, Chris, I apologize. my behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you want to talk.’
Smith, 53, further apologized to Rock’s mother and brother Tony Rock.
“That was one of the things at the time that I didn’t realize,” Smith continued. “I didn’t think about how many people were injured at the time. I want to apologize to Chris’s mother, Chris’ family, especially his brother Tony Rock.”
He added: “This is probably irreparable.”
The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alum clarified that his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, had not told him to “do anything” after rolling her eyes on hearing the alopecia joke that led to the confrontation .
