“Botched” star Dr. Paul Nassif announced that his older brother, Chris Nassif, passed away “unexpectedly” on Wednesday. He was 62.
“Yesterday I unexpectedly lost my big brother. Words cannot describe the loss my family, his friends and I are feeling right now,” the famed plastic surgeon, 60, wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of his late brother.
“Chris Nassif was and will always be a legend. Today our world is obsessed with superheroes, but when he grew up he was mine.”
Paul described Chris’ successes, including starting his own talent agency when he was just 22 and representing “some of the biggest stars in the world, from Sofia Vergara to Luke Perry to Ricky Martin.”
“When it comes down to it, there is no one on this planet who will turn their back on you like your big brother,” the E! personality continued. “Please keep our family in your prayers at this unimaginably difficult time.”
Paul concluded his tribute by asking his 1.2 million followers to “never take a moment for granted” because “you never know when you could lose someone who means everything to you.
“I only had one brother and he was the best brother I could have hoped for. He helped raise me. I know I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for him. I always love you, my brother.”
Chris’ cause of death has not yet been released.
In addition to his work in Hollywood, Chris also had an interest in law enforcement and served as a reserve deputy for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and also had reserve status with the Inglewood School Police Department, according to his official website.
