Google Pixel update timing is unknown. Google’s long-standing first-Monday timetable may be replaced by a multi-Monday cycle depending on the provider and phone.
For the second month in a row, Google Pixel updates have been spread across many Mondays, ending with Verizon Pixel 6 smartphones.
April’s update hasn’t reached Verizon Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, or Pixel 6a. The March update arrived last.
On April 10, Google updated most phones, including Verizon’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, but not the three Pixel 6 devices. Verizon updated their software support pages for all remaining Pixel phones (or the week prior for the Pixel 4a through the Pixel 5).
Why are Verizon Pixel 6 phones getting updates later than other Pixel phones? You can guess too. Google has struggled to upgrade Pixel 6 phones using the original Google Tensor chip. Modem difficulties may slow a carrier’s update.
Good news: Google delivered the March update for these phones on the 4th Monday of the month, which is today. Expect an update to this page announcing the update’s release before the day’s conclusion.
As in March, the Verizon Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a are last in line for the April upgrade. Google rarely discloses reasons for delays or delivery schedules. The update may arrive today.
