Kanye West admitted his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, has their kids “80 percent of the time” — after trying to get her to split their education between their Los Angeles school and his Donda Academy.
Speaking on the podcast “Alo Full Mind” on Thursday, he revealed, “Even to this day I will still give Kim advice on things that can help because that goes to the kids.”
He added: “She still has to be raising kids 80 percent of the time, so what people saw when I went back and forth is I have to be able to throw my version of what people would throw […] to the curriculum because my parents could do that to me.”
After Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, West took to social media to express his disagreements over the way she raised their children — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 — particularly when the comes to their upbringing.
“The standard curricula out there, we have to balance them,” he said in the podcast, advocating his Donda Academy. He added that the private school helps students build their “self-confidence,” something he wants to pass on to his own children.
However, the 41-year-old Skims founder was hesitant to send her children to the secret Christian school, leading to outbursts from the Yeezy designer, 45, online.
“You’re just getting to a point, aren’t you? And every time you get to that point, everyone wants to say ‘oh his sanity,’ and everyone wants you to apologize a million times,” the rapper explained as he talked about his social media rants.
He added: “You can’t even stand up for the things you give to your family.”
Earlier this month, fans of the Grammy-winning rapper grew increasingly concerned about his mental health after he ranted online about his estranged family. However, West clarified on the podcast that he was just expressing himself.
“The idea of taking the control and the opinions or whatever from the mother or the father takes away one’s meaning in life. It doesn’t matter how much money you have,’ he remarked.
While the former couple struggles to agree on where to send their kids to school, Ye recently revealed that the pair had a “great meeting.”
