Today’s launch event was centered on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, but the company also unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro tablets. The new tablets feature significant improvements over their predecessors, including new chipsets, enhanced displays, and a design inspired by the Xiaomi 13 series of smartphones.
Both tablets have 11-inch IPS LCDs with a resolution of 1800 x 2880 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 hertz and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The Pro variant features a faster 144Hz refresh rate, while the standard Pad 5 model retains the 120Hz rate.
Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro and Pad 6
Pad 6 is outfitted with the Snapdragon 870 SoC, while Pad 6 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Both tablets run Android 13 with the MIUI Pad 14 operating system. The Pad 6 Pro features an 8,600 mAh battery with 67W charging, whereas the Pad 6 has an even larger 8,840 mAh battery with 33W charging.
Pad 6 Pro is equipped with a 50MP rear camera and a 20MP front-facing sensor with auto-tracking for video conversations. The Pad 6 has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Both tablets feature quad speaker configurations with Dolby Atmos.
In addition Xiaomi revealed a redesigned keyboard case and a second-generation smart pen peripheral with reduced input latency, increased battery life, and improved tip wear resistance.
The colors of the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro are black, blue, and champagne gold. Xiaomi Pad 6 starts at CNY 1,999 ($291) for the 6/128GB configuration. The 8/128GB model costs CNY 2,099 ($305 converted), while the 8/256GB variant costs CNY 2,399 ($349).
Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro begins at CNY 2,699 ($392 USD) for the 8/256GB base configuration. It is also available in 8/256GB (CNY 2,699) and 12/256GB (CNY 2,999) configurations, while the 12/512GB variant costs CNY 3,299 ($480 USD).
Both tablets are currently available for pre-order in China, with general availability commencing on April 21. Pricing and availability on a global scale were not specified.
