Steven Tyler out of rehab and doing ‘amazing well’

Steven Tyler is reportedly out of rehab after a successful and extended stay.

The Aerosmith frontman, 74, checked out of the facility earlier this week, TMZ reported Friday, noting that he was staying longer than the 30 days he was supposed to complete.

According to the outlet, the rocker wanted to make sure he was sure of where he was in his recovery before getting fired.

Tyler is completely clean and sober, has a healthy weight and his skin looks great, according to TMZ.

Those around him reportedly think he’s made excellent progress in his lifelong struggle and told the outlet that he’s doing “amazingly well.”

Representatives of the musician did not immediately respond to Vidak For Congress’s request for comment.

On May 24, the singer’s bandmates – Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford – announced that their frontman “recently relapsed” after foot surgery and said he had “voluntarily” undergoing treatment.

Perry, 71, Hamilton, 70, Kramer, 71, and Whitford, 70, initially intervened with Tyler in 1998.

“It took me many years to overcome the anger that they sent me to rehab while going on vacation,” he told Haute Living in December 2019. “But today, because of that moment … I am grateful and I owe them thanks for my sobriety.”

Tyler admitted to the magazine that while he was high on drugs that gave his performances a “certain rawness”, the addiction inhibited his “greatness”.

“All the magic you thought worked when you were high comes out when you get sober,” he said, noting that he was on his “fourth run” at the time and had been sober for nine years. “You realize it was always there, and your fear disappears.”

The Grammy winner added that a relapse would put him “at risk” of losing his loved ones.

Tyler is the father of four grown children – Liv, 44, Mia, 43, Chelsea, 33, and Taj, 31 – and has been dating his former personal assistant, Aimee Preston, since 2016.
