Stand up for his bride.
Sam Asghari defended Britney Spears after Kevin Federline said their sons – Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15 – haven’t seen their mother in months because of her racy Instagram photos.
“Even if it were true that her children are ashamed of their mothers [sic] choices and positive body image they wouldn’t be the first teens to be embarrassed [sic] from their parents,” Asghari wrote in a now-deleted Instagram Story Monday. “The mere presence of a parent can humiliate a teenager.”
The actor went on to say that the idea of parents embarrassing their children is so common and accepted that it has been a “storyline” used in television and movies for decades.
“Eventually, if not already, they will realize their mothers [sic] choices are harmless and an expression of a new-found freedom,” he wrote. “There is nothing to be ashamed of [sic] about a lot of things to be proud of ❤️🙏 .”
This isn’t the first time the model, who married Spears in June, has addressed her ex-husband’s claims.
“The boys are very smart and will soon be 18 to make their own decisions and will eventually realize that the ‘hard’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much as a role model in over 15 years,” he wrote via Instagram Story on Sunday, specifically addressing claims that the singer’s nude posts were “difficult” for the boys to deal with.
That same day, Spears, 40, also defended her relationship with her sons, calling the interview with Federline “hurtful.”
“I am saddened to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children,” she wrote via Instagram Story. “As we all know, raising teenage boys isn’t easy for anyone. It worries me that the reason is based on my Instagram.”
The ‘Toxic’ singer also reminded her followers that she is still processing the end of her conservatory and is doing her best to balance her newfound freedom and motherhood.
“In addition to what I’ve said in my story… As their stepmother (Victoria Prince) says ‘what happens outside this house has nothing to do with his house’… I’d like to get out the DOOR sharing is a sign of WHITE GATES I’ve been kept away for 15 years… the conservatorship is only 8 months out!!!!” she wrote.
She continued: “I should start doing more WAAAY than going topless on the beach like a baby!!!! I’m not surprised that just as my family has done their fair share of interviews, so will they. I’m not at all surprised by their behavior and their approach to what I have dealt with!!!”
The newlyweds’ fiery statements came after Federline told the Daily Mail that Preston and Jayden chose not to attend their mother’s wedding in Asghari due to frustrations with her naked Instagram posts.
“The boys have decided that they are not seeing her now,” Federline, who has primary custody of the boys, said in the interview. “It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They have made the decision not to attend her wedding.”
“This whole thing was hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to see my boys go through than anything,” he said. “It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.”
Federline, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2006, added that he “can’t imagine what it feels like to be a teenager going to high school” while their mother posts nude photos.
