Day one of the iconic Rolling Loud Festival finally made its exciting return to Miami on Friday night.
Day one of the iconic festival saw some of the biggest names take the stage – including some huge surprises.
But day 1 was not without drama. Friday’s headliner, Kid Cudi, threw his microphone to the floor before yelling at fans and storming off the stage after being pelted with items thrown by spectators.
Video footage shared on Twitter initially showed that the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper was punched in the face with water bottles during his set.
He then threatened festival-goers, saying he would cut his set short if they didn’t respect him.
‘I’m leaving. If I get another f-ing thing — if I see another f-ing thing on this f-ing stage, I’m leaving,” he told the crowd. “Not f– with me.”
He was then hit with another water bottle from an audience member, causing Cudi to drop his microphone to the floor and storm off the stage. Fans then started chanting Kanye West’s name.
Aside from the drama, the festival had one more special surprise in store for the evening.
During Lil Durk’s set, none other than rapper Kanye West briefly appeared on stage.
Needless to say, it sounded like music to everyone’s ears. Literal.
West’s performing at the festival was surprising to many, especially since he dropped out of the lineup less than a week ago.
Cudi was eventually chosen to replace West as Friday’s headliner.
During his brief onstage appearance, West sang his hit song “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1” from his album “The Life of Pablo”.
Fans were quick to note that the song’s vocals were recorded by Cudi.
It seems the song choice was even worse given that West and Cudi had a very public feud earlier this year.
West criticized Cudi for being friends with comedian Pete Davidson, who is currently dating West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.
“Just so everyone knows that Cudi won’t be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who,” West wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Cudi then responded to West on Twitter, calling the rapper a “dinosaur” and accusing him of lying.
“God opens the door for the wrong people to leave your life”, Cudi tweeted in answer.
On day one, Saweetie also took the stage. She performed her hits “My Type” and “Best Friend” and even teased a new song coming out soon.
Playboi Carti and A$AP Ferg also let the audience loose with their sets.
Day 2 will be just as iconic.
Future is the last on the main stage as the main act of the evening. With Lil Uzi Vert, DaBaby and Gucci Mane all set to put on staged performances.
On Saturday, City Girls will also take the stage, as will Soulja Boy.
Kendrick Lamar closes the festival as the main act on Sunday.
His performance comes after Lil Baby, Kodak Black and Baby Keem take the stage.
