Queen Bey and her king, Jay-Z, were the perfect royal couple at a party for her new album “Renaissance” in the Times Square Edition over the weekend, but Vidak For Congress hears some of their courtiers were freaking out.
“Beyoncé was very nice to everyone, with [conversations] and thanked everyone for being there,” said a source who noted she arrived with Jay-Z around 10:30 p.m.
However, despite the ultra-short list, chic environment, and gracious hosts, some guests were still unsubscribed for bad behavior.
“A few people were kicked out for being drunk and foolish,” says our insider. “They didn’t know how to act,” we are told.
The source says more people have been turned away “for recording videos”. They said, “Security put tape over people’s phone camera lens when they checked in.”
(Beyoncé is known for being strict about controlling her image. In 2018, Vidak For Congress reported that the superstar’s publicist sent an email requesting that Coachella fans’ photos not be published and instead only approved photos. her publicist also previously attempted to have unflattering images of her removed from the internet in 2013)
Beyoncé posted photos of her arriving at the party and others wearing her silver outfit, including a beaded purse with the number one album name and release date.
Her mom, Tina Knowles, posted photos of Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, Lena Waithe, Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter and Lala Anthony from the party.
Donald Glover, dressed in a chest-bearing unitard, was also in attendance, along with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jill Scott, Telfar Clemens and Tyler Perry.
“I’ve watched all the constant hard work for over two years, the sometimes sacrifice of time with her family, the late night sessions, working sick, weekends and then raising three children,” Knowles wrote of her daughter.
She said she also saw “time away from a very supportive husband, the Blood Sweat and Tears. I say that to say that Beyonce works harder than any human I know and earns and deserves everything. She gets nothing.”
We hear that they “played the new album non-stop all night” during the event, called “Club Renaissance”. And that the space was decorated with neon signs of song names and lyrics.
Questlove tweeted: “I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say it but I’ve literally seen an entire club LOSE it. Renaissance played 3 times from start to finish. . . I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z also attended a party this weekend for Kendrick Lamar at Dumbo House, where the rapper performed “Swimming Pools (Drink)” and kept “male groupies” trying to get close to Bey and Jay-Z, says a source.
