Purple ‘out of the question’ for the set of the show

Sherri Shepherd says her favorite color was “out of the question” for the set of her new daytime talk show, “Sherri.”

The go-to hue of the “View” alum is purple, which was sadly the motif of her predecessor Wendy Williams’ set.

“There was no question of purple,” she said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday. “I love everything. … It was a collaboration.”

Shepherd, 55, told attendees there won’t be a “purple color” on her set, but her makeup artist, as well as the set designers, still managed to “capture” her vibe.

“They’ve done it, and it’s me and it’s calm and peaceful and joyful and it’s lively,” she said. “Everything I am, they captured on set.”

“Sherri” will differ from “The Wendy Williams Show” not only in color, but also in attitude. While Williams, 58, was famous for her “Hot Topics” segment, in which she often candidly gossiped about celebrities in a cruel but honest way, Shepherd said her show will be the complete opposite.

“I try not to be mean to anyone because my outlook on life is definitely through the lens of love,” she explained. “That’s unique to me.”

After syndication company Debmar-Mercury made the decision to end Williams’ show and launch “Sherri” instead, a report claimed the production would ditch the shock jock’s purple chair; however, her manager, Will Selby, clarified that the iconic piece of furniture would suit Williams.

“That was [Wendy’s], and it means closing the old chapter when we start the new one,” Selby told The US Sun. “We’re going to take it, and that will be part of her new show.”

Williams teased the launch of a new podcast, but her video promoting the project raised more health concerns than excitement.

“I love your aunt, but trust me, we’d rather see you all healed than [sic] brings us the messy gossip. I personally care about you more than that❤️,” commented one follower.

“Sherri” will premiere in national syndication on September 12.
