Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy lives on.
Princess Charlotte was arrested when she gave her big brother, Prince George, instructions on how to behave at their great-grandmother’s funeral on Monday.
In a short video of the lavish ceremony in London, England, Charlotte, 7, leaned against George, 9, and waved her hands as she appeared to whisper, “You must bow.” The second in line to the throne listened intently before nodding his head in affirmation.
As the late monarch’s coffin passed the two eldest children of the newly appointed Prince and Princess of Wales at Wellington Arch, George bowed his head as his younger sister bowed in unison with their mother, Kate Middleton, their aunt, Duchess. of Sussex Meghan Markle, and their step-grandmother, Queen Consort Camilla.
But Charlotte epitomized more than just Elizabeth’s devotion to upholding royal protocol during the much-discussed spectacle, when she arrived with her first major jewel: a diamond horseshoe brooch allegedly gifted to her by her great-grandmother.
The young princess also donned a hat for the first time while attending the Westminster Abbey service.
Like her aunt, Meghan, and her grandfather, King Charles III, Charlotte became emotional during the bleak, one-day event.
Middleton was photographed placing her hand on her tearful daughter’s back before gently grabbing her hand and leading her into the crowded church.
Middleton and Prince William’s youngest child, Prince Louis, 4-year-old, was not present after the former explained that the small toddler was struggling to understand the Queen’s death.
All three Mountbatten-Windsor children were taken to many events in June to mark Her Majesty’s platinum anniversary, where Charlotte was caught again making sure her brothers showed proper etiquette.
During the Trooping the Color procession, Charlotte sweetly discouraged Louis from waving incessantly, then nudged George to correct his posture as he watched the Pageant’s parade.
