Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi posted a photo with her mother three days before she died on Monday.
The photo shows the mother-daughter duo posing together and smiling in an open field. Lattanzi, 36, wore an off-the-shoulder fitted white dress while Newton-John went with a beige pleated skirt and a white long-sleeved button-down tied at the waist.
“I adore this woman. My mother. My best friend. @therealonj 💋💕👯♀️”, she captioned the photo on Friday.
Newton-John’s only child, Lattanzi, also honored her mother with a series of photos on Instagram after her death was announced Monday afternoon.
“So much love sent to you sweet girl ️” Lattanzi captioned the sweet snaps.
Lattanzi, who followed in her mother’s footsteps as a singer and performer, shared both throwback and recent photos of her with her mother. The first photo shows Lattanzi as a toddler holding her mother’s head and kissing her mother on the lips. Another shows the singer holding her daughter as a baby on the beach.
The rest of the photos were current snapshots of the mother-daughter duo. Some of them let the two talk during a virtual interview with ring lights. Lattanzi rounded out the photo dump with a recent selfie and a photo of all of them surfaced.
Newton-John, best known for her role as Sandy Olsson in Grease, passed away Monday at the age of 73 after more than 30 years of battling breast cancer.
“Olivia has been a symbol of triumph and hope for over 30 years for sharing her journey with breast cancer,” a statement read on her social media accounts. “Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience in plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer revealed in October 2021 that she was battling stage 4 breast cancer and was using medicinal marijuana to relieve the pain.
Prior to her most recent diagnosis, Newton-John first battled the disease in 1992 and again in May 2017. In September 2018, she was diagnosed with cancer for the third time.
Newton-John married his longtime boyfriend Matt Lattanzi in 1984, and she took a break from her career when she became pregnant with Chloe and gave birth to her in 1986. They eventually divorced amicably in 1995, and Newton-John married John Easterling in 2008.
