Old School Diner Owner Talks About Friend Ben Affleck Before Wedding

Ben Affleck’s favorite chef in Georgia has yet to meet the star’s new bride, Jennifer Lopez, but he wished the newlyweds all the best on Saturday.

“I pray and hope they have many more wonderful years together,” says Jerome Brown, 74, owner of the Old School Diner in Townsend, GA, where he claims Affleck regularly loves his fried chicken, Creole shrimp, and strawberry key lime. Cheesecake.

“He just loves everything I do,” says Brown, who has owned the restaurant since 2005, two years after Affleck bought his sprawling plantation-style home in nearby Riceboro. “He’s in and out. Sometimes he hangs out in my kitchen. He loves, gives,” Brown told The Post. ‘He is a devoted person. He’s very humble.”

Brown told The Post that Affleck sometimes even hangs out in the Old School Diner kitchen.

Affleck is so enamored with Brown’s dinner that he filmed his 2010 crime thriller “The Town” at the restaurant, where he also regularly visited with Brown’s late wife, Loretta. There are multiple photos of Affleck in the seafood restaurant, including one with Brown.

Brown said he recently spoke with Hollywood actor Rob Lowe, who he said is one of the star-studded guests in town for the lavish three-day wedding.
