Baby on board!
Nico Tortorella and partner Bethany C. Meyers become parents.
The couple announced on Thursday that they are expecting their first child after nearly two years of trying to conceive.
“There is so much to tell about this unexpected story of how we were eventually conceived, but today I just want to be in the excitement of sharing our news with all of you,” Meyers wrote alongside photos of the two on Instagram. “Our 🌈 baby is in my belly.”
Meyers, 35, sent her “love” to those who are still on their “journey to parenthood.”
“I know some of you may have just had another failed cycle, or found out your pregnancy wasn’t viable, or some other hiccup in this wild game of trying to conceive. Permission to mute me, step away or feel all those feelings. I’ve been there too.”
In the sweet snaps, the “Younger” star points to Meyer’s belly and kisses him as she proudly shows off her growing belly in a fitted brown dress.
Tortorella, who uses she/she pronouns, also shared the news on their Instagram, writing: “the baby. is coming 3.9 @bethanycmeyers I love you.”
Meyers and Tortorella, 34, have been open about their infertility journey in recent years.
In June, Meyers posted an Instagram photo snuggling up against her dog howling. Along with the photo, she wrote: “One minute you’re laughing at your birthday photos, the next you’re crying in bed on a Tuesday morning, the next you’re putting on a happy face for your zoom meeting.
“That’s what the TTC (trying to conceive) journey is .”
Last September, the actor revealed that the couple, who are polyamorous, have put their “alternative sex life” on hold in order to have children.
“Now I only have sex to get pregnant. And I haven’t had sex with a guy in two years. I haven’t had sex with anyone since February 2020 except my partner,” they said on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“Which is strange. We’ve never been so monogamous and straight in the 15 years we’ve known each other. It’s been an amazing process,” they continued before adding, “I’m hooked and in love with the idea that I’m going to have a child soon, and all my energy goes to that person.”
The couple has been together for 16 years and tied the knot in 2018 with an intimate courthouse ceremony.
