The battle for portraits.
Biographer Tom Bower – who wrote “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors” – told Vidak For Congress in an exclusive interview that he “absolutely” believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released their most recent portraits to the royal family. to humiliate.
“It was all about, we are now back on track to build Brand Meghan and the book, the Netflix series, the podcast,” he told us. “Everything is money. And to their advantage, they were out in the open for seven days at the funeral or more, every day they were filmed.”
Bower further compared it to their appearances months earlier at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations where the pair were barely seen.
“They were pushed to an upstairs window and barely seen,” he said, contrasting Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, where “they took center stage.”
“You know, she really has one interest,” Bower added, “and that’s Meghan and the victims are the royal family and as far as she’s concerned, that’s great.”
Photographer Misan Harriman on Monday released two photos taken during Markle and Harry’s journey to the UK just before the Queen’s death on September 8. In one photo, just before the opening of the @OneYoungWorld, the couple stood together holding hands.
Their photos came two days after the palace released a portrait of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles, alongside the heir apparent, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.
The remarkably relaxed portrait was taken ahead of the gigantic reception the palace held for heads of state and official foreign guests for the Queen’s funeral on September 18, and is clearly intended to symbolize the continuation of the monarchy.
Markle and Harry tied the knot in 2018 and resigned from their royal duties less than two years later amid claims the former actress and their children had been racially profiled.
They eventually moved to California, where they live with their two children: Archie, 3, and 1-year-old Lilibet.
