Mindy Kaling calls outfits from the past ‘a nightmare’ on ‘WWHL’

Mindy Kaling’s old outfits go up in flames.

The “Mindy Project” star took a trip down memory lane during a game of “Versace of Hibachi” on Tuesday night’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen — and she couldn’t believe some of the outfits flashing before her eyes.

Kaling, 43, was asked to look at an earlier photo of herself and say “Versace” if she liked the look and “Hibachi” if she wanted to burn it, and the actress quickly started grilling.

“I really hate myself,” she said after reviewing the first few outfits, which included a 2008 ensemble with a huge ruffled scarf and flared jeans with lace gloves.

The early aughts look caused Kaling to laugh hysterically and exclaim, “Hibachi! My God, horrible.”

The ‘Office’ star also vandalized a black-and-white printed gown from a 2014 event and a 2008 Emmys metallic gold dress that Cohen described as “looking very Studio 54.”

“Can you find a look of mine where I look good?” she asked, finally considering a 2014 printed floral dress as “Versace,” along with a black and white dress from the 2006 Emmy Awards.

While Cohen insisted she looked “amazing,” the fashion continued, and after looking at more flops like a floral wrap dress and a very purple mini from 2006, the “Late Night” star said, “You know, I I feel like I’m being set up.”

“I know I looked good in a photo,” she added. “I know that about myself and it just feels like this is a nightmare.”

Despite her terrifying trip down memory lane, the sitcom star — who recently said she faced an onslaught of negative comments about her appearance during “The Mindy Project” — was a good sport about the game.

Today, her style is a long way from the early days of her career, and she’s rocking some standout “fits,” like the sexy David Koma dress she wore this spring, which is definitely more Versace than hibachi.
