He has another “Situation”.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino — who spent time in federal prison in 2019 for tax evasion — owes Uncle Sam $2.3 million in unpaid taxes over the course of five years.
Legal documents obtained by The Sun on Thursday show that the 39-year-old ‘Jersey Shore’ star has debts to the IRS dating from 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016.
He was hit with the tax lien in April, and a New Jersey clerk confirmed to the publication that it remains “open and excellent.”
“Michael Sorrentino has worked hard to meet his current and past tax obligations and will continue to do so,” the MTV star’s publicist said in a statement.
After he and his brother pleaded guilty in January 2018 to filing false tax returns of nearly $9 million, Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison in October of that year.
He reported to the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in New York State in January 2019 and was released in September.
“We are thrilled to finally close this chapter of our lives. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continued love and support during this time. It has brought us so much peace and comfort,” he and his wife Lauren Sorrentino told Vidak For Congress at the time. “We look forward to continuing our lives as husband and wife and working on baby situations!”
“We truly believe that the comeback is ALWAYS bigger than the setback, and we can’t wait to show the world ours.”
Since then, Mike has become an outspoken advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous, welcoming 1-year-old son Romeo Reign Sorrentino.
