Meghan Markle impresses in red suit at One Young World Summit

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, and Prince Harry, 37, kicked off a busy week yesterday with performances at the One Young World Summit in Manchester – and the Duchess made a statement with her meaningful fashion choices.

Wearing a red tie-belt blouse ($540) and matching trousers ($590) from sustainable brand Another Tomorrow, Markle took the stage for her first UK speech since stepping down as a senior member of the royal family.

According to the label’s website, it operates “a value system based on three pillars – human, animal and environmental welfare”, and the Duchess of Sussex’s pieces are made from sustainable viscose and ethically sourced merino wool.

The Duchess — known for sending a message with her style — added red Aquazzura heels and jewelry from women-founded brands that also focus on ethical practices.

She recently wore one of her favorite rings, the Shiffon ‘Duet’ Pink Ring ($300-$855), which gives back to female entrepreneurs and is designed to represent women who support each other through a ‘pink pledge’.

The mother of two also chose new pieces from the ethical brand Tabayer, with the chunky “Oera” 18k gold earrings ($3,300) and matching ring ($3,800).

According to the brand, the jewelry was designed to represent the ancient Mesopotamian goddess Inanna and her knot, which is considered a symbol of protection and divine feminism.

At the event, which brought together young leaders from more than 190 countries, Markle encouraged attendees to use their voices to make a difference.

Sources have said the couple will not be making any visits to the royal family this week, despite staying at their home at Frogmore Cottage, which is within walking distance of Cambridge’s new Windsor base.
